About Us

The Town of Ten Sleep sits at the base of the Big Horn Mountains. Cattle and sheep ranching form the basis for our community.  Our local business are friendly and cater to locals as well as tourists. Ten Sleep is home to the Pioneer Museum, Pioneer Park and the Ten Sleep Public Library.

Our surrounding community offers hiking, mountain climbing, rock climbing, dude ranching, camping, hunting, boating, fishing, horse-back riding, and four-wheeling! During the winter, there is snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding and ice climbing in the beautiful Ten Sleep Canyon.

Ten Sleep got our name from our location “ten sleeps” (or nights) midway between the Sioux Camps on the Platte River from the south to an historical Sioux campsite to the north, near Bridger, Montana.
